Following the recent resignation of Town Councillor & Mayor Mike Childs, a casual vacancy has been declared in the office of Town Councillor for West Ward.

Your Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Council recently celebrated the winners of its flag design competition, recognising the creativity and effort of participants. The competition, which aimed to engage the community in creating a new flag to celebrate the 50th Anniversary saw a wide range of submissions from residents of all ages.

Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council is currently hiring for a Housekeeper/Cleaner position. This is a part-time role, with a workload of 15 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday. The primary responsibility is to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the Town Council’s premises. The salary range for this position is between £22,366 and £23,500 pro-rata.

During the full council meeting held on the 24th of June, your Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council warmly welcomed four new faces to their team. The Town Council is delighted to introduce two new youth representatives who will serve as the voice of young people in the town. Courtney Fitch and Bryn Steer will be taking on these important roles, ensuring that the perspectives and concerns of the youth are heard and addressed.

Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council proudly announces the success of its funding awarded to Citizens Advice Powys, an esteemed local resource making a positive impact. Your town council grant has enabled Citizens Advice Powys to continue providing free, confidential, impartial, and independent information and advice to residents of Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn in need.
